Design your own Treacey Family Crest

Derived from the O'Treasaigh clans, one in Limerick and one in Galway. O'Treasaigh comes from the Irish name "treasach" meaning fighter, war-like, higher, more powerful, or superior.
The first reference to the name was in 1008 AD where it states "Gussan, son of Ua Treassach, lord of Ui-Bairrche, died".

The 'Treacy' spelling is generally found in Ireland where the other variations of the name are found throughout the traditional countries where the Irish emigrated to.
The earliest reference to a Tracy in America was in 1653.
